The attack on a police station and the robbery incident at Anyigba Banks have now been confirmed by the Kogi State Police Command.

According to the furucinovel, gunmen shot and killed a police officer and a civilian on Thursday during an attack on two commercial banks in Anyigba, Kogi State’s Dekina Local Government Area.

There were additional reports of intermittent gunfire during the bank attacks, as well as a town police station when an undisclosed quantity of cash was purportedly taken.

In response, Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer SP Williams Ovye acknowledged the attacks and one officer’s death in a statement released on Friday night.

He said that on Friday, CP Bethrand C. Onuoha, the Commissioner of Police for the Kogi State Police Command, visited the scenes to conduct an on-the-spot assessment and made a pledge to capture the thugs.

In order to restore order in the area, the statement claims that the CP also authorized the deployment of tactical teams made up of PMF personnel, counterterrorism, quick response, and intelligence units working in tandem with other security agencies.

Before the reinforced team arrived on the scene and the attackers retreated, one police constable paid the ultimate pay in the gunfight with the thugs.

“The Commissioner of Police guarantees the Command’s steadfast dedication to collaborating with other security agencies and patriotic stakeholders to guarantee Kogi State remains safe and secure for everyone,” the statement continued.
