Oluremi Tinubu, the first lady of Nigeria, has pushed young people in her nation to support the goals and initiatives of the administration.

According to her, they will be able to take full use of all the opportunities that are present.

The First Lady was speaking to executives and members of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria, or YOWICAN, while they were being received in her office at the State House in Abuja.

Mrs. Tinubu emphasized that there should be more preaching of the gospel of unity by the Association and the Church.

‘Nigerianness’ should be emphasized above ethnicity or culture. Yes, we do believe that these are important, but we also think that we should embrace and celebrate our unity. We are Nigerians first and foremost. We require that hub of solidarity.

“Just as the Bible states in Titus 2 and 1 Timothy that the older ones should teach the younger ones, you youths need role models who will teach you what to do and how to do it.”

The First Lady also cautioned the visitors to spread the word about making life investments.

She stated, “Technology is great, but we need to teach the next generation how to use it responsibly.”

She gave a brief overview of some of the office’s initiatives through the Renewed Hope Initiative, or RHI. These initiatives include the N25 million Unity Fabric Competition and the N20 million Every Home A Garden Competition.

In addition, Mrs. Tinubu prayed for the visitors and the Nigerian youth.

Earlier in his speech, YOWICAN’s National Chairman, Enwere Belusochukwu, praised the First Lady for her numerous projects, particularly the Renewed Hope Initiative, or RHI.

He also requested her opinion on two other proposed initiatives: the National Christian Youth Resource facility, which will contain a skill development facility among other amenities, and the proposed quarterly Breakfast Prayer Meeting of Muslim and Christian youth.

Later, the executives gave Mrs. Tinubu the Association’s uniform and an Easter card.

In July 2023, the First Lady received a crown designating her as the Grand Patroness of the Christian Association’s Youth Wing.
